![]() Dal Palak A nutritive combination of dal (mame) & Palak (spinach)

ingredients¡¡ Serves 5¡¡:
1/2 cups yellow split gram dal
500 gms. Palak (Spinach¡Ýwashed & chopped)
2 tomatoes - chopped
1 onion - chopped
1 tsp. - Chopped green chilly
1 tsp. - Chopped ginger
1 tsp coriander Powder
1/2 tsp Garam Masala (mixed spices)
3 Tbsp. Oil
Method:
1. Wash & soak Dal for 45 minutes.
2. Wash & chop Palak leaves. Discard the stems.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Saute the onion till golden brown.
4. Strain the soaked dal & add it to palak. Mix other ingredients with spices.
5. Add 1/2 cup water, cover & cook till dal become soft. (First on high flame & then on low flame).
6. Mash the dal slightly.
7. Served hot with boiled rice.
