Time: April 4th (Tue.) 10:30-12:00

MIFA offers flower arrangement classes.to introduce Japanese culture to foreigners.
Volunteers give lessons.
You can learn three schools of arrangement, which are Sogetsu, Ikenobo and Ohara
About 10 people join to enjoy Ikebana each time
Volunteers explain participants how to do it from the very beginning.
Participants can choose their own vases to arrange flowers.
They take pictures after practicing arrangement again and again.
10:30-12:00 on 1st and 3rd Tuesday (no session in August)

Fee MIFA Member ¡ï1,100, Visitor ¡ï1,500 (Including fee for flowers)
Application Reservation required.
Apply to MIFA with your name, telephone number and the date you'd like to join by noon of previous day.
¢¨Cancellations: If due to unavoidable circumstances you are unable to attend the Ikebana session please contact by noon of the previous day.
¢¨PLEASE NOTE that there will be a cancellation charge of 1000 yen if you cancel after 12pm of the previous day to cover the cost of the flowers.

Are you interested in Chanoyu, Japanese tea ceremony ?
Join MIFA's Chanoyu and experience very traditional Japanese culture with volunteers who give you instruction.

MIFA organizes Japanese tea ceremony for foreign residents. It is held at a full-blown room for
Tea Ceremony and a spacious Japanese room in the Meguro City Office Complex. Japanese volunteers introduce
to participants Japanese tea ceremony from the basic. Even beginners don¡Çt have to hesitate to join the event as
Japanese volunteers explain thoroughly how to enjoy it. Why not try delicious tea as well as traditional Japanese sweets?
Schedule for FY2015  Every 3rd of Thursday from 10:00 to noon
2017: 4/20, 5/18, 6/15, 7/20, 9/21, 10/19, 11/16, 12/21
2018: 1/18, 2/15, 3/15
Time 10:00 a.m.-12:00
Place Hagi no ma & Japanese tea ceremony room, 1st Floor, Meguro City Office Complex
Fee MIFA member ¡ï600, Visitor ¡ï1,000 (including fee for tea, sweets and charcoal)
¢¨Please bring a pair of white socks and a handkerchief.

Japanese Culture Experience: Ikebana and Tea ceremony
Japanese culture experience 2nd session was held on July 27th at MIFA. 14 participants including 8 people in Yukata enjoyed Ikebana and Japanese tea ceremony. After the session, we went to gorgeous south entrance of Meguro City Office¡Çs Complex which is covered with marble flagstones.
One day Japanese Traditional Culture Experience: Japanese flower arrangement and Japanese tea ceremony
First weekend Japanese culture session was held on June 1st, 2013 at MIFA. 12 participants enjoyed Japanese flower arrangement and mini tea ceremony. The next session will be in July. The details will be updated soon at this page.
