* Report on MIFA Bazaar 2011 *

We conducted MIFA Bazaar in September this year, three months later than originally planned as we were affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, we had quite many visitors as usual, however. We appreciate donations contributed to MIFA from many people such as MIFA members, residents of Meguro City, and so on.
The first day was a ¡ÈWelcome day for foreign residents.¡É Thirty non-Japanese residents from 13 countries came and shopped then. They enjoyed shopping while choosing their favorites from many goods. An international student chose a drawer of Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival) as a souvenir for his mother; a family chose toys and bags for kids; and a participant of MIFA¡Çs Ikebana class bought kimono and Japanese goods. They also enjoyed talking with MIFA staff and other visitors.
The total proceeds from the two-day bazaar was 147,881 yen. Fifty thousand of it was donated through Japan Red Cross Society to those affected by the earthquakes. The rest will be used for the enrichment of support to foreign residents in MIFA activities.
Our thanks go to everyone who cooperated with us at the bazaar.
We plan to hold a bazaar next year as well. We look forward to welcoming you to the event again!

* Report on MIFA BAZAAR 2010 *

MIFA Bazaar was held on June 8th and 9th. This occasion marked its eighth anniversary.
The first day of the bazaar was a ¡ÈWelcome day for foreign residents.¡É The second day was open to MIFA members before noon and open to non-members in the afternoon.
On the first day, about 30 non-Japanese residents came and shopped. Visitors were from over 10 different countries. Foreign volunteers kindly offered cakes and sweets, visitors enjoyed tea and desserts after their shopping. Some shoppers went back for a second time after the tea break.
Many goods such as daily necessaries, Japanese goods, dolls, pottery, Kimono etc. were donated to MIFA. Our thanks go to those who kindly offered goods and as well as to those who kindly came and bought them.
The proceeds from the bazaar will be used for the enrichment of MIFA activities. We plan to hold the bazaar at the beginning of June next year as well. We look forward to welcoming you again then!
